What is the advantage of a Hastelloy reactor?
There is no question that one of the most important things a reactor design, be it nuclear, chemical or otherwise, is the material used for the pressure vessel, the head and other associated components. A vessel manufacturer will offer a variety of different alloys and constructions for reactors, and it can be difficult to choose the right one for you. Obviously, you want to pick an alloy that can stand up to pressure, heat and a long period of uptime. The less replacements and maintenance you have to do to your reactor, no matter what sort of reactor it may be, the better. Hastelloy is a modern, durable synthetic alloy they can withstand just about anything you can throw at it. Today, were going to talk a little bit about the importance of an alloy like this for a pressure vessel, and a little bit about what Hastelloy is. Going to try to not get too complicated and too far into metallurgy and engineering and so forth, but we will touch on it a little bit, because Hastelloy is p...
