Triathlon Training Plans During The Pandemic That Just Won’t Go Away

Yeah, I am sick to death of this pandemic too. We have moved beyond the financial difficulties, inconvenience and yes, of course, isolated disasters of this to annoyance from having to constantly think about and hear about it. I tired of writing about it, and you are tired of reading about it. Unfortunately, we aren’t out of the woods yet, and we probably won’t be for a while. Justifiably, in fact, we will probably be in some form of informal lockdown for a while yet, because everybody is terrified, and I would rather everyone be terrified so that we avoid this again, then become complacent once more and this happen again in your future. Truth be told, I try to look on the bright side of everything, and in many cases that comes in the form of learning from mistakes, which is definitely a thing here. However, another bright side is that we have made a 20 year leap in adoption of digital technology. This includes things like telecommuting finally being accepted, a reduction of emph...

Forming an Effective Triathlon Training Plan during the Quarantine

This quarantine, and the overall pandemic responsible for it, are taking quite the toll on society. I’m not even talking about the horrendous cost of lives that this virus has brought upon us, nor would I ever even begin to say that any other problems are nearly as horrible as such irreplaceable losses. The families and friends of people whom have lost their lives to this pandemic have nothing but my utmost condolences. That said, what I’m actually talking about is the disruption to society that the quarantine and shutdown of general functions is brought upon us all. I simply wanted to point out that the loss of lives is far worse than any ramifications for those of us still here. When it comes to triathlon training plan , this is especially tricky. It’s not really safe for everyone to get together to train like it used to be, and you can’t train at the gym, because what few gems are open require you to cover your face, and good luck doing aerobic exercise with one of those thing...

Staying Safe During Trying Times with an Online Bike Fit

These have been rough times, haven’t they? Masks are horrible, but we all have to wear them in order to prevent this sick this from spreading, and to keep ourselves safe at the same time. The limited amount of travel and activities we can pursue has left us all feeling a bit cooped up as well. It’s not so bad as it could’ve been, thanks to the interconnectivity of the Internet, and they endless supply of entertainment it can deliver, as well as a form of social interaction albeit an impersonal one.   As a cyclist, you found ways to cope. You found places where you can safely ride, well removed from other people, such as suburban streets, bike paths and parks, etc. You have yourself regularly checked to make sure that you weren’t somehow still exposed to the illness, and you’re keeping sharp. You’re not letting this stop you from staying fit, nor from pursuing what you love. Very good, you found the balance that so many people seem to be failing to achieve. But what about ro...

Winning a Sprint Finish

Sometimes with certain road or circuit races, there is no need to think about the sprint finish technique as it is not needed, or it is very very short. Sometimes what can happen is no rider wants to act as the lead for the whole lead group but that can ruin the results. Eventually, someone's nerves might crack and they go for it. As a result, the length of the sprint finish can really vary not just because of the type of race but also on the lead group, its size and their triathlon coaching. Improving your sprint finish though is a very good skill to have and might play an important role in more races than you might think. Stay sheltered for as long as you can Whether you are moving from a large group or a smaller one there are some things to think about. The first thing is the boost staying sheltered gives you. When you are in a sheltered position, behind a good wheel you are trailing, it keeps you protected from the wind resistance and that has a big impact. Practice this in ...
