Forming an Effective Triathlon Training Plan during the Quarantine

This quarantine, and the overall pandemic responsible for it, are taking quite the toll on society. I’m not even talking about the horrendous cost of lives that this virus has brought upon us, nor would I ever even begin to say that any other problems are nearly as horrible as such irreplaceable losses. The families and friends of people whom have lost their lives to this pandemic have nothing but my utmost condolences.

That said, what I’m actually talking about is the disruption to society that the quarantine and shutdown of general functions is brought upon us all. I simply wanted to point out that the loss of lives is far worse than any ramifications for those of us still here. When it comes to triathlon training plan, this is especially tricky. It’s not really safe for everyone to get together to train like it used to be, and you can’t train at the gym, because what few gems are open require you to cover your face, and good luck doing aerobic exercise with one of those things across your breathing passage.

So, can I make an effective triathlon training plan in spite of this?

If this were even 30 years ago, I would say absolutely not. If this were the pandemic of the 1920s when influenza swept the world, we would all be out of luck. Heck, even 15 years ago it would’ve been challenging, and that’s a post-digital era.

Thankfully, while I personally am usually not a fan of things like social media, the sort of technology is tremendously useful for many walks of life right now. We can work, interact and perform business and commerce all through the Internet thanks to technology like this. Well, you can’t exercise over the Internet, as much as I wish the case, but you can work together on training through the Internet.

You basically need to, arguably three technologies to do this. You need a smart phone, you need some sort of real-time communications format such as discord, zoom or the like, and ideally, a biometric smart watch.

So, what you do is all pick places ideal for your training, be a cycling, running or whatnot, where you are safely away from people. The suburbs are great as long as there are sidewalks or low-traffic roads, parks and other natural places are also fine. Any kind of repetitive work out you would normally do at the gym, you can do at home.

You can also synchronize together, and either work out together in real-time, or record the biometric data of your workouts, and share them, even virtually racing this way. Through this, you can work out triathlon training plans over the Internet that remain safe during this, while keeping everyone healthy and competitive. Your health is very important, especially with viruses like this going around, as a healthier you are, the more resistant to something like that you are as well. Good health also promotes good mental health, and is stressful and abnormal as these times are, mental health is tenuous at best for most of us!
