What exactly is social media marketing all about?

So, following in the same theme as our previous article, discussing what the pandemic has done to change the way marketing works, let’s start discussing individual types of marketing, with today being our touching on social media marketing. Now, you may be like me, and prefer to avoid the use of social media on a personal level as much as possible. I don’t blame you, and if you plan on using social media marketing, if you’re anything like me, you will have a good social media marketing in Toms River or social media marketing in Wall handle the actual presence on social media, something that is a bit of an art form, I must say.

Like I mentioned previously, the pandemic has double down on the speed through which people are abandoning old-fashioned forms of communications and entertainment, hastening the extinction of broadcast television, radio, periodicals and so forth. Being stuck at home all of this time, people have been binge watching and spending a lot of time on the Internet, so what little patience they had for old marketing tactics, it’s all gone now.

What exactly do we do on social media, for marketing purposes?

So, this was always the case, but it’s more apparent now, that there are different stages of marketing and outreach. There is acquisition/lead generation, and then there is the maintaining of existing customer interest, as well as outreach to established customers. Hours to established customers is where you announce new, exciting products, new deals, changes in branding, what have you.

Social media marketing is actually the second stage of this, with lead generation being done through blogs and so forth via SEO and, to a lesser extent, SEM. On social media, those whom already appreciate your company, product and/or service will be following you, and it is to hear that you maintain engagement with them, fighting churn and loss of interest. It is also a secondary waste generate leads, though, because people who follow your followers may in turn follow you when you are “retweeted”, shared or the like through other platforms, but this is a secondary form of lead generation, just remember that.

A face for your company…

So, let’s talk a little bit about what a few clever companies have done over social media, establishing a bit of a gimmick, personality and memorable “campaign”. A couple fast food restaurants have done this, various gaming companies have done it, and even stuffy business technology companies like IBM have been known to do this.

Generally, when you think about social media marketing, you probably imagine something like this, but you should just let this happen organically if it’s going to. Don’t try to force this, people will be able to smell that a mile away. It’s also a bit of a catching of lightning in a bottle, you will learn quickly.

If you trust your social media marketing in Toms River or social media marketing in Wall, and you work closely with them so they can understand your corporate culture, brand identity and the demographics to which you are trying to market, they can make this lead retention and churn prevention approach work amazingly well.

I understand that this sort of thing can seem intimidating, but they have your back.
