Why consultancy in IT recruitment is mandatory!
IT recruitment agencies are crucial, even in an era where recruitment is a lot easier than it once was. You might of May so eliminate the need for a recruitment consultant in certain role/field/departments within your company, though I don’t recommend eliminating them entirely from any aspect of HR, when it comes incoming candidates.
However, you cannot omit IT crew recruitment agencies, especially if IT and technology aren’t focuses of your company, wherein you would have a lot of people with a general grasp on key qualifications. Unfortunately, IT is an extremely broad, poorly-defined thing. They could mean so many things related to computers and digital communications, from your web designer to your in-house tech support, customer tech support, administration, infrastructure maintenance, you name it.
Asking your IT department to lay out the complex qualifications needed is just going to frustrate them, and sour your relationship with them. Unfortunately for HR, most apartments see them as the enemy, the so-called “thugs” that can end careers, and walk around enforcing arcane rules and propriety. It’s not fair to IT, but they often have to play the “bad guy” so to speak. IT, not being comprised of the most social and cooperative individuals by the nature of the trade, makes them less than willing to be particularly conducive to HR. They also don’t want to be bothered with menial tasks like this, when they could be pushing buttons and making computers work.
Thus, a recruitment consultant working for one of the more-capable IT recruitment agencies can better-define the qualifications, social compatibilities, something that is especially tricky with IT people, etc., making it all so much easier.
Remember, HR may specialize in qualifications incompatibilities, but IT is one of the trickiest apartments for this, and HR will beg, plead, borrow and steal to get out of having to define these qualifications themselves, or to deal with the IT department to get these qualifications, under most circumstances. You cannot leave out IT recruitment agencies, and remember, choosing poor people, qualification-wise and psychology-wise, can be a major detriment, even a make-or-break decision for your business!
